Samsung Adds Stablecoin Support to Wallet App
Samsung Electronics has announced plans to add native stablecoin support to Samsung Wallet during its Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event on July 22. The move would place dollar-pegged digital currencies directly into an app already installed on millions of Galaxy smartphones, positioning Samsung Wallet as one of the largest consumer on-ramps for crypto payments.
The stablecoin feature was announced alongside the Samsung Galaxy Card, a credit card issued by Barclays on the Visa network that launched in the United States on July 22. The card offers 5% cash rewards on Samsung purchases, 3% on transactions made through Samsung Wallet, and 2% on streaming services.
Samsung described the Wallet as a financial hub connecting payments, identity, digital assets, and Galaxy services. Samsung did not name which stablecoins it will support, identify an issuer, or provide a launch date.
