Samsung Enters Stablecoin Market with Native Support in Samsung Wallet

Share

Samsung has announced plans to introduce stablecoin support to its Samsung Wallet as part of a broader strategy to expand its digital payment ecosystem. The move aims to combine payments, rewards, and digital assets within a single mobile wallet experience.

Speaking during the Galaxy Unpacked event, Lee Dinham, a Samsung product manager, said that Samsung Wallet would evolve beyond traditional payment methods by embracing new forms of digital value, including stablecoins. He added that the company intends to become one of the first major smartphone brands to offer native stablecoin functionality, enabling faster and more trusted digital value transfers.

The announcement follows Samsung's continued efforts to integrate blockchain technology into its mobile services. The company has steadily expanded its digital finance offering in recent years, including a partnership with Coinbase in 2025 that allowed eligible Galaxy users in the United States to purchase cryptocurrencies through Samsung Wallet.
