Samsung Leaps Ahead with Native Stablecoin Support in Wallet App
Samsung has made a significant move into the world of digital money by adding stablecoin support to its Wallet app. During the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event in London, Samsung's product manager Lee Dinham announced that the company would be expanding its wallet beyond traditional cash and cards to include new forms of digital value, including stablecoins. This means that users will be able to send, receive, and top-up their stablecoin balances directly within the Wallet app.
The move is seen as a major step forward for Samsung, which has been working to establish itself as a leader in the financial technology space. By adding native support for stablecoins, Samsung is making it easier for users to manage their digital assets and engage with the wider cryptocurrency ecosystem.
In contrast, Apple has yet to make any official announcements about adding native support for stablecoins to its Wallet app. While iPhone users can interact with stablecoins through third-party apps or crypto-backed payment cards, they do not have seamless access to these digital assets within the standard Apple Wallet experience.
