Samsung has announced plans to integrate stablecoins into its Wallet app, making it one of the first major mobile brands to do so. The company showcased a preview of the feature during its Galaxy Unpacked presentation in London on July 22.

The interface displayed USDC and basic transfer controls, but Samsung did not confirm which stablecoins or blockchain networks will be supported. It also remained unclear whether the service will be custodial or self-custodial, with no public release date, eligible-device list, or regional rollout announced.

Samsung's Lee Dinham described stablecoins as part of the next stage of the Wallet product, stating that it would 'make Samsung one of the first major mobile brands to bring native stablecoins to a smartphone.' The company's existing Blockchain Keystore can create, store, and use private keys inside an isolated Trusted Execution Environment protected through Samsung Knox.
