Samsung SDS Expands Stablecoin Capabilities Through Investment in Upbit Operator Dunamu
Samsung SDS is expanding its stablecoin capabilities through an investment in Dunamu, the operator of South Korea's largest cryptocurrency exchange, Upbit.
The company plans to combine its cloud, cybersecurity, and IT services business with Dunamu's blockchain expertise to lead the emerging digital asset infrastructure market in South Korea.
Samsung SDS CEO Lee Jun-hee stated that the company has already gained experience in tokenized securities and stablecoin infrastructure through its participation in projects such as the Korea Securities Depository's tokenized securities platform project.
The investment is part of Samsung SDS' broader strategy to pursue inorganic growth opportunities, which also includes investments tied to artificial intelligence and robotics.
