Samsung SDS Eyes Stablecoin Partnerships with Upbit Parent
Samsung SDS is exploring potential partnerships with Dunamu, the parent company of South Korea's largest cryptocurrency exchange Upbit, to develop stablecoins and next-generation digital assets based on artificial intelligence (AI).
The two companies are discussing cooperation in areas such as stablecoin infrastructure, financial system integration based on virtual assets, and AI-based payments.
Samsung SDS acquired a 4% stake in Dunamu in May alongside Samsung Securities Co. and Samsung Card Co., with the goal of strengthening its digital financial infrastructure business by combining Dunamu's blockchain expertise with its own capabilities in IT services, AI, cloud, and security.
The investment was made with various business opportunities in mind, including stablecoin infrastructure and next-generation AI-based payments.
