Samsung SDS Taps Dunamu for Stablecoin and AI Payment Platform
Samsung SDS has partnered with South Korean fintech firm Dunamu to develop a new stablecoin and AI payment platform. The partnership combines Samsung SDS's expertise in enterprise technology, cloud, blockchain, and security with Dunamu's know-how in digital assets and financial services.
The platform will utilize stablecoins, which are digital tokens designed to maintain a stable value by pegging to a traditional asset such as a national currency. This could potentially speed up payments for businesses, reduce the time taken to settle cross-border transactions, and lower transaction costs.
Samsung SDS will provide the technical infrastructure to operate the platform securely, while Dunamu's experience in digital assets, trading systems, wallets, and financial compliance will play a key role in building out the stablecoin element. The platform is also expected to utilize AI for fraud detection, tracking transactions in real-time and flagging suspicious activity.
However, regulatory approval remains a major hurdle for the project, with South Korean regulators likely to scrutinize how the token is backed, who holds customer funds, and whether users can convert stablecoins to fiat currency.
