Samsung's Stablecoin Ambitions Remain Unclear as Wallet Integration Looms

Samsung has announced that its Samsung Wallet will support native stablecoin integration for up to 800 million Galaxy handsets by the end of 2026, but the company remains tight-lipped about which stablecoin it will use.

The news comes from a recent announcement at Galaxy Unpacked on July 22, 2026, where Samsung product manager Lee Dinham demonstrated a USDC balance with send, receive, and top-up functions within Samsung Wallet.

Despite the demo, Samsung has not confirmed whether it will partner with Circle, the issuer of USDC, nor has it revealed which custody model it will use - whether it will hold private keys or allow users to self-custody.

The lack of clarity on these key points may indicate that Samsung is taking a cautious approach to ensure compliance and regulatory approval before launching its stablecoin feature.
