Sandbox Blocks SAND Transfers on Base and BNB Smart Chain Amid Bridge Flaw

The Sandbox has suspended SAND token transfers on Base and BNB Smart Chain (BSC) due to a cross-chain bridge vulnerability.

The issue was discovered after an attacker exploited the flaw, resulting in unbacked SAND tokens being minted on both networks. The affected tokens account for less than 0.01% of the total SAND supply.

The SAND tokens on Ethereum and Polygon were not impacted by the vulnerability, and user wallets are said to be unaffected as well.
