Sanders Accuses Crypto Industry of Buying Influence with Clarity Act
Senator Bernie Sanders has spoken out about the influence of cryptocurrency companies on politics. He claims that politicians have been told not to antagonize big-money interests, including those in the crypto industry.
In a recent conversation with actor and cryptocurrency critic Ben McKenzie, Sanders shared his concerns about the Clarity Act, a bill aimed at regulating the crypto market.
Sanders believes that the bill is being pushed by the industry as payback for their election-season spending. According to him, when you take on crypto, you're taking on hundreds of millions of dollars of folks who want to defeat you.
The crypto industry has spent $189 million in campaign contributions this election cycle, accounting for 37% of all corporate political spending during the cycle.
