Sato Clarifies No Connection to Fake CATE Tokens, Warns About Unauthorized Projects
Atsuko Sato, the owner of the original Doge prototype puppy Kabosu, has clarified that recent market rumors about CATE tokens have no connection to her. In a statement, she explained that she had previously posted a social media update on Instagram, but it was subsequently misused and manipulated by others to create fake tokens linked to her name.
According to Sato, the unauthorized use of her name led to the creation of false CATE tokens, which were then disseminated through various online channels. She expressed regret over the situation and emphasized that Own The Doge is the only project she has formally authorized to manage her intellectual property.
Sato noted that Own The Doge was established in 2021 and acquired the Doge NFT, launching the DOG token and organizing Doge Day events while also managing her IP. In 2025, they collaborated on releasing the COCORO token on the Base network.
The proceeds from these projects will be used to care for Sato's pet family members and support Kabosu's animal welfare initiatives. She urged the public to rely only on official information and remain cautious of unauthorized projects or tokens that may misuse her name.
