Satoshi Nakamoto's 2010 Scalability Response Still Resonates Today
The Bitcoin community commemorates a pivotal moment in its history, 16 years since Satoshi Nakamoto addressed concerns about network scalability.
On July 29, 2010, a user raised doubts about Bitcoin's operational speed, comparing it to traditional bank card networks and pointing out the 10-minute wait per block limited daily use in retail.
Nakamoto responded by explaining how third-party payment processors could handle fast transactions within 10 seconds or less, ultimately concluding 'If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.'
The exchange on the Bitcointalk forum occurred when Bitcoin was trading at $0.07 and had a network infrastructure reliant on a few hundred enthusiasts worldwide.
