Satsuma Technology Unloads Entire Bitcoin Holding Amid Shareholder Backlash
Satsuma Technology PLC's ambitious foray into the world of corporate Bitcoin treasuries has come to an abrupt end. The London Stock Exchange-listed company sold its entire holding of 669.4867 BTC between July 24 and July 31, generating £31.912 million from the sales at an average price of £47,667 per Bitcoin.
The decision to liquidate the company's Bitcoin holdings was made after a shareholder vote on July 20, where over 90% backed both a capital return and full delisting, despite opposition from the majority of the board. The High Court approved the capital reduction on September 8, paving the way for eligible shareholders to receive £0.002734 per Class B share.
Satsuma's trajectory was remarkably compressed, having raised £163.6 million in August 2025 and holding around 1,199 BTC at its peak. The company had previously sold 579 BTC for £40 million in December 2025, which was seen as a portfolio management decision rather than a retreat.
