Saylor Abandons 100% Bitcoin Buying Strategy Amid $8.2B Loss
Strategy's stock price dropped 4.56% on July 31 to close at $93, following a net loss of $8.2 billion in Q2 2026. The company's Executive Chairman, Michael Saylor, announced that Strategy will no longer use 100% of its funds to buy Bitcoin.
Saylor stated that 'perhaps the best way to buy the most Bitcoin is not to buy the most Bitcoin immediately' and emphasized the importance of holding cash alongside BTC. This shift in strategy comes after the company reported an unrealized loss of $8.32 billion on the BTC it holds.
The STRC preferred stock dropped slightly to close at $89, while Strategy CEO Phong Le noted that the company will not buy more Bitcoin until STRC gets back to par. The RSI reading of 43 on MSTR's daily chart suggests a bearish momentum, but green AO bars indicate that bears may be losing their grip.
