Saylor: Bitcoin Drawdowns Require Decades-Long Perspective
Michael Saylor, chairman of The Strategy, has stated that Bitcoin drawdowns require a long-term perspective, rather than focusing on short-term charts. This comes after the 2021-22 crash, which saw a 75% decline in value without Saylor selling any of his coins.
The company purchased 175,000 BTC this year while only offloading 32 coins, equivalent to just two basis points. Saylor dismissed short-term criticisms surrounding the sale, attributing it to the impact of the AI industry on capital flows, which has created a 'capital black hole' pulling funds away from crypto.
According to technical analysis, the current price action suggests that Bitcoin may test its 50-EMA support zone before potentially experiencing a rotation back into risk assets by Q4. This aligns with historical models that treat 50% drawdowns as routine within longer market recoveries.
