Saylor Declares Bitcoin a $1T Digital Capital Opportunity
Michael Saylor, Strategy Executive Chairman, recently framed Bitcoin ($BTC) as 'digital capital' in an interview. He contrasted it with traditional assets like gold and real estate, highlighting its unique features: being scarce, portable, programmable, and globally transferable.
Saylor pointed out that over the last six years, $BTC has returned approximately 33% annually compared to the S&P 500's 15%, the Nasdaq's 18%, and gold's 12%. He also noted that cash and money-market holdings provide around 3% nominal, closer to 1.5%.
In addition to Bitcoin's performance, Saylor emphasized its challenges to traditional assets, such as real estate's hidden costs like Florida's 2% annual property taxes and Miami Beach land appreciation from $10,000 to $10-20M.
