Saylor Denies New Bitcoin Sales Authorization, Affirms Net Buyer Status
Strategy Chairman Michael Saylor clarified the company's stance on its Bitcoin holdings after reports that it had received authorization to sell up to $5 billion worth of BTC.
The authorization, which was actually announced on June 29th as part of the company's capital management framework, allows for the sale of BTC but does not compel the company to do so, Saylor stated.
'Old news is being presented as new,' Saylor said. 'This arrangement permits the sale of $BTC for the stated purposes but does not compel the company to sell.'
Saylor emphasized that Strategy's Bitcoin monetization program does not require the company to sell its BTC holdings and noted that the company has never officially adopted a policy stating that it will never sell its BTC.
