Saylor Denies Selling Personal Bitcoin as Strategy Continues Sales
Strategy Chairman Michael Saylor clarified his stance on Bitcoin after the company announced its third sale of the year. He stated that he has not sold any of his personal Bitcoin holdings, despite the company's decision to sell 1,638 BTC from July 27 to Aug. 2 to raise $104.73 million.
Saylor emphasized that the company's sale is separate from his personal wallet and that he has 'not sold a single coin.' He also pointed out that he has maintained confidence in Bitcoin for both himself and the company, and that the recent sale was made for capital management purposes.
The funds raised will be used for preferred dividend funding, share buybacks, and increasing cash-like reserves. Strategy's Bitcoin holdings now stand at 842,138 BTC after the sale, following earlier sales of 32 BTC in late May and 3,588 BTC from June 29 to July 5.
