Saylor Hints at Bitcoin Buying Return Amid Capital Management
Strategy Inc's Executive Chairman Michael Saylor hinted at a possible return to buying Bitcoin after a 10-week hiatus. In a tweet on Sunday, he posted 'We're ₿ack,' which has often preceded an announcement of fresh Bitcoin purchases.
The company's last reported Bitcoin buy was on June 22, when it purchased 520 BTC worth $34.9 million at an average price of $67,068 per coin during the week of June 15 to June 21. Since then, Strategy has focused on capital management, selling Bitcoin in batches and using the proceeds to buy back its preferred stock.
The company raised about $2.01 billion through its at-the-market stock-sale program between August 17 and August 23, and increased its 'Stretch' preferred stock dividend to 12 percent beginning July 1. This has boosted Strategy's combined dollar liquidity to $6.69 billion, including a restricted USD reserve of $5.10 billion.
Strategy currently holds 840,447 BTC, worth $65.72 billion, down slightly from the 847,363 BTC it held in late June. If Saylor's post leads to a new buy, it would be the longest stretch without a Bitcoin purchase in 2026 and a step back toward accumulation for Strategy.
