Saylor Hints at Strategy's Potential Bitcoin Buy After Five-Week Pause
Strategy Executive Chairman Michael Saylor posted 'Bitcoin Drive engaged' on X, hinting at a potential BTC purchase after a five-week pause in disclosed acquisitions. The August 2 post accompanied his weekly Bitcoin chart and followed a caption from the previous Sunday that read 'We're gonna need another color', which preceded a July 27 filing confirming no new BTC purchases that week.
Strategy's last confirmed purchase came on June 22, when it acquired 520 BTC for $34.9 million. Between June 29 and July 5, the firm sold 3,588 BTC for approximately $216 million to fund preferred stock distributions and replenish its cash position.
The company holds 843,775 BTC, acquired for a total of around $63.69 billion at an average price of $75,476 per coin. At current prices, these holdings are roughly $10.4 billion below their total acquisition cost.
