Saylor Identifies 5 Key Factors Holding Back Bitcoin's Recovery

Bitcoin's recovery is being held back by five key factors, according to Strategy Founder and Executive Chairman Michael Saylor. During the company's Q2 earnings call on Thursday, Saylor emphasized the importance of the 200-week Moving Average (MA) in determining Bitcoin's price action.

Saylor pointed out that the 200-week MA marked Bitcoin's bottoming phase in 2022, but it stayed below the level for a while before recovering above it. At the time of writing, several on-chain signals suggested that the crypto was close to bottoming out.

The five headwinds derailing Bitcoin's recovery include artificial intelligence (AI) capital expansion, trade tensions, the ongoing Middle East crisis, the Fed rate policy, and the CLARITY Act delay. Saylor noted that these headwinds could also become tailwinds if they improve, with positive news in any of these areas potentially leading to a boost for the entire Bitcoin market.

The impact of the last two factors could be felt soon, with the CLARITY Act having until next week to make meaningful progress this year and another Fed rate hike expected in September. However, some traders have already shrugged off its potential bearish impact.
