Saylor Maps Bitcoin into Four-Layer Digital Money Stack
Michael Saylor, Executive Chairman of Strategy Inc., has outlined a framework for utilizing Bitcoin in various financial products. In his proposal, he positions Bitcoin as a digital capital layer, which can be refined into different assets to meet varying investor demands.
The model consists of four layers: Bitcoin (BTC), STRC preferred stock, Solstice Finance's SR-strcUSX token, and USDT stablecoin. Saylor explains that this framework is analogous to the oil refining process, where crude oil is transformed into various products like gasoline, jet fuel, and plastics.
STRC provides a digital credit layer, offering variable income through its 12% annualized dividend rate. Solstice Finance's SR-strcUSX token targets a 7% annual yield, with senior capital absorbing losses first.
USDT, the dollar-linked stablecoin, sits at the payment end of the spectrum, providing a liquid and dollar-denominated medium for transfers and settlement without exposure to Bitcoin's price volatility.
Saylor recently presented this framework at Goldman Sachs' Digital Assets Conference in London, highlighting its potential as a billion-dollar business opportunity in finance.
