Saylor Reaffirms No-Sell Stance Amid Strategy's BTC Sales
Michael Saylor, executive chairman of Strategy, has reaffirmed his long-held stance on Bitcoin. In a statement on X, he claimed to have never sold any of his own Bitcoin, saying 'When I say “Never Sell Your Bitcoin,” I speak as one saver to another. I have never sold mine. Not one satoshi.'
This comes after Strategy disclosed selling 1,638 BTC for US$104.73 million between July 27 and August 2 at an average price of US$63,957 per coin. This sale is approximately 15% below the company's average purchase price of US$75,419.
The proceeds from this sale went towards funding repurchases of Strategy's STRC shares and paying dividends on its preferred stock. The company's treasury holdings finished at 842,138 BTC on August 2, down from 847,363 in late June.
