Saylor Rejects Report of New Bitcoin Sale Plan, Stays True to Framework
Strategy Inc. Executive Chairman Michael Saylor has pushed back against reports of a new $5 billion bitcoin sale plan, stating that the authorization is an existing capital-management tool.
The Digital Credit Capital Framework, announced on June 29, permits bitcoin sales for defined corporate purposes but requires none at present.
Saylor clarified that Strategy had already sold 3,588 BTC in July for $216 million as part of its efforts to balance bitcoin holdings with funding requirements tied to preferred-stock dividend payments and cash reserves.
The company's framework authorizes sales only for specified corporate purposes, and management retains $1.25 billion in unused reserve-building capacity.
