Saylor Sees Bitcoin as Digital Capital, Predicts 30% Annual Growth
Michael Saylor believes Bitcoin has outgrown its original purpose as a peer-to-peer payment network. In his recent post titled 'The Bitcoin Reformation,' Saylor argued that the cryptocurrency is evolving into a broader financial asset, used not just by individuals but also companies, banks, exchanges, funds, and governments.
According to Saylor, users should be able to choose between self-custody and using professional custodians, weighing the risks of each approach rather than rejecting institutional custody outright. He described Bitcoin as 'digital capital,' suggesting it could play a role in equity, debt, and credit markets alongside existing financial systems.
Saylor also defended exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and other Bitcoin-linked products as a way to broaden access to the asset. Notably, he predicted that Bitcoin will gain about 30% annually over the next two decades.
