Saylor Slams BIP-110 Upgrade as Unnecessary and Risky
Michael Saylor, founder of Strategy, has spoken out against the proposed Bitcoin BIP-110 soft fork upgrade.
Saylor claims that those supporting the upgrade are new to the Bitcoin ecosystem and want to change something that isn't broken.
The BIP-110 proposal aims to restrict transaction data size, which supporters say will prevent 'spam' and keep Bitcoin from becoming a memecoin-heavy network like Solana.
However, Saylor believes that Bitcoin core protocol changes should be rare and conservative, saying there's no need to 'fix what isn't broken.'
The upgrade has also drawn criticism from other key figures, including Adam Back of Blockstream, who claim it would make some old BTC addresses vulnerable to theft.
