Saylor Sounds Alarm on Bitcoin Rule Changes
Michael Saylor, CEO of Strategy and a prominent Bitcoin supporter, is warning that proposed rule changes to the network could weaken its scarcity and security. In a series of posts on X, Saylor stated that Bitcoin's existing rules act like a constitution, defining property, scarcity, and settlement.
Saylor believes that changing these rules to benefit one group could hurt everyone else, and that a bad rule adopted today could take away future opportunities. He pointed to BIP-110, a proposal to limit transaction data, as a risky change.
The miner support for BIP-110 has grown slowly, reaching 2.3%, but is still far below the 55% threshold needed for activation on August 9.
