Saylor Stands Firm on Never Selling Bitcoin Amid Strategy's Sales
Michael Saylor has declared that he has never sold any personally held Bitcoin, not even one Satoshi. He made this statement after Strategy Inc., the company he leads as Executive Chairman, announced its third Bitcoin sale of 2026, leaving it with 842,138 BTC.
The sale was part of Strategy's capital management strategy, which allows for the purchase or sale of Bitcoin while managing capital, liquidity, securities, and financial obligations. Saylor emphasized that his personal conviction to never sell Bitcoin is separate from the company's treasury policy.
Strategy has disclosed since 2020 that it may purchase or sell Bitcoin as part of its capital management strategy. The company expects to remain a net Bitcoin buyer over time, using the BTC Monetization Program to provide financial flexibility.
The program was announced on June 29, and operates within a board-approved capital framework. It allows for up to $1.25 billion in additional reserve-building Bitcoin sales, in addition to the existing $2.55 billion reserve.
