Saylor's 'Bitcoin Drive' Signal Sparks Expectations of Another Strategy Bitcoin Purchase
Strategy Inc., led by Executive Chairman Michael Saylor, has sparked speculation about another Bitcoin purchase after posting 'Bitcoin Drive engaged' on August 2. The message, which accompanied Strategy's familiar acquisition tracker, continues Saylor's pattern of signaling treasury developments before weekly disclosures.
The tracker displayed Strategy's Bitcoin reserve at 843,775 BTC with a market value of approximately $53.25 billion, and an average cost of $75,653 per bitcoin. It also showed an unrealized performance of -$10.58 billion (-16.58%) and 113 purchase events as of August 2.
Strategy's live ledger reflects two recent Bitcoin sales totaling 3,588 BTC, including 1,363 BTC and 2,225 BTC, which reduced the company's holdings from 847,363 BTC to 843,775 BTC. The sales were made to fund preferred-stock distributions and replenish the U.S. dollar reserve.
The timing of Saylor's message has led to expectations that Strategy will announce another Bitcoin purchase on Monday, following a similar signal before the company's July 27 announcement. With an $8.33 billion operating loss for the second quarter of 2026, Strategy may be balancing its 843,775 BTC treasury against expanding cash obligations and active capital management.
