Saylor's 'Doing Business' Sparks Strategy Bitcoin Mystery
Michael Saylor's cryptic post on X sparked speculation about Strategy Inc.'s next move after posting a familiar bitcoin tracker chart. The two-word message 'Doing Business' drew attention because similar posts have often preceded weekly updates on its massive bitcoin holdings.
The company's own dashboard showed the combined reserve at $58.89 billion as of 10:06 a.m. ET, up $372 million on the day, including $4 billion in dollars alongside coins. Bitcoin alone accounted for roughly $54.9 billion, around $65,180 per coin.
Strategy's public ledger is the clearest evidence of its shift towards selling bitcoin, with four sales between June 1 and Aug. 3, 2026. The company reported 2,225 coins gone on July 6 at $60,773 each, another 1,363 on June 30 at $59,256, and 32 BTC on June 1 at $77,135.
The stock closed at $100.01 on Aug. 7, up $3.16 or 3.26%, for a market value of $38.77 billion, less than the bitcoin sitting on the balance sheet. Saylor has pointed to bitcoin-backed credit as the next billion-dollar finance opportunity, a way to earn from the stack instead of shrinking it.
