Saylor's 'Doing Business' Tweet Triggers Speculation on Strategy Inc.'s Next Bitcoin Move
Michael Saylor's cryptic message 'Doing Business' on Twitter has sparked speculation about Strategy Inc.'s next move regarding its massive Bitcoin holdings. On August 9, Saylor posted a bitcoin chart with the two-word caption, following up on his company's disclosure of another Bitcoin sale just days earlier.
Strategy Inc., which describes itself as a Bitcoin treasury company, revealed that it had sold 1,638 BTC for $104.73 million between July 27 and August 2, leaving its total holdings at 842,138 BTC. The sale marks the third time in 2026 that Strategy has disposed of some of its Bitcoin reserves.
The company's ledger shows a net loss of $8.22 billion for the second quarter, with its Bitcoin position down by an unrealized loss of $9.05 billion. Despite this, Saylor sees potential in Bitcoin-backed credit as a way to earn from its stack instead of shrinking it.
