Saylor's Luxury Test: Will Billionaires Fuel Bitcoin's Long-Term Growth?
Michael Saylor, executive chairman of MicroStrategy, is using a unique investment strategy to evaluate Bitcoin's value. He calls it the 'Bernard Arnault test,' named after the luxury goods magnate Bernard Arnault. The test asks investors to consider whether someone richer and smarter will want to buy an asset ten years down the road.
Saylor believes this long-term approach is essential, especially when considering Bitcoin's current price of around $77,313. MicroStrategy holds 840,447 Bitcoin at an average purchase price of $75,385 per coin, resulting in a paper profit of $1.6 billion. However, some critics, like gold advocate Peter Schiff, remain skeptical about the token's value.
Saylor has previously forecasted that a single Bitcoin could reach $12 million. According to him, investors should focus on expected demand for Bitcoin in 2036 rather than short-term price movements. The market is now waiting to see if future buyers will bring luxury capital or leave trading to existing crypto holders.
