Saylor's Strategy Faces Index Exit Threat Amid MSCI Proposal

Michael Saylor's Strategy Inc., which has accumulated more than $60 billion in Bitcoin purchases, faces a potential threat to its financing model. MSCI, an index provider, is considering rules that could remove Strategy from its global equity indexes.

The proposed rule would exclude companies that MSCI determines are not 'free-float adjusted' or have 'unusual stock price movements.'

Strategy Co-Founder and CEO Michael Saylor has been seeking more capital to continue buying Bitcoin, which has added to concerns over shareholder dilution and the performance of securities issued to finance these purchases.

A rebound in Bitcoin has brought some relief to Strategy, but the company still faces significant financing challenges. MSCI's proposal comes as a new strain on the company's financial situation.
