Saylor's Strategy Scoops Up Another 4,600 Bitcoins Worth Over $370 Million
Michael Saylor's company, Strategy, has made another significant investment in Bitcoin. The purchase of 4,603 BTC for $369.7 million brings its total holdings to 845,050 BTC, solidifying its position as the largest publicly traded corporate holder of Bitcoin.
The acquisition comes after Saylor teased a potential buy on Sunday with his 'We're ₿ack' post, and the company has now confirmed it has returned to the market. This latest purchase extends Strategy's long-running bitcoin treasury strategy, which began in August 2020 when the company spent $250 million on 21,454 BTC.
Saylor stated that the acquisition brings his company's USD assets to $6.71 billion and its net leverage to 0.0%. The company also increased its U.S. dollar cash position by $29 million and repurchased $152 million of STRC, one of the preferred securities used in Strategy's capital structure.
Strategy now holds a significant amount of Bitcoin, representing about 4% of the maximum 21 million-coin supply. The next focus will be whether Saylor continues to buy after this latest transaction, with investors watching its next capital-market moves and potential further STRC repurchases as September begins.
