Sberbank Unveils Plan to Launch Cryptocurrency Trading Infrastructure in Russia by December
Sberbank, Russia's largest bank, is gearing up to launch an infrastructure for cryptocurrency trading by December 1. The project aims to bring crypto-asset operations closer to the country's regulated financial system.
The initiative includes services for custody, trading, and settlement of digital assets, as well as a digital depository to register ownership of cryptocurrencies held by clients.
A relevant part of the operations will be processed outside the blockchain, and the bank plans to manage its own wallets for deposits, withdrawals, and transfers requested by users.
