SBI-Affiliated Exchanges Delist 9 Cryptocurrencies in October
Two major cryptocurrency exchanges in Japan, SBI VC Trade and BITPOINT, have announced plans to delist nine cryptocurrencies by October 28. The affected assets include Aptos (APT), Ethereum Classic (ETC), Oasis (OAS), Build and Build (BNB), DeepCoin (DEP), Jasmy (JMY), OSHI Token (OSHI), Pepe (PEPE), and Official Trump (TRUMP). Purchases of these cryptocurrencies will cease on October 7, with sales and withdrawals concluding on October 28. After the delisting deadline, any remaining balances will be automatically converted to Japanese yen and credited to customer accounts by November.
The delisting process is part of a larger integration effort between BITPOINT Japan and SBI VC Trade, which was completed through a merger in April. The BITPOINT brand has been maintained post-merger, but new account openings closed on July 31. The two exchanges plan to fully integrate services by the end of December.
For users holding these cryptocurrencies, it's essential to take action before the deadline: either sell or withdraw to a compatible external wallet. Those wishing to cash out without taking on price fluctuation risk should act promptly, as balances remaining past the deadline will be automatically converted to yen.
