SBI Holdings Considers Unloading Majority Stake in Cryptocurrency Exchange Maker
SBI Holdings, Japan's banking empire, is exploring sale options for its majority-owned B2C2, a London-based cryptocurrency exchange maker.
The company has reportedly discussed selling B2C2 to various potential buyers over the past 18 months, with no deal yet confirmed. SBI Holdings acquired a 90% stake in B2C2 in 2020.
B2C2 provides liquidity services across spot, derivatives, and stablecoins markets to institutions, exchanges, and asset managers. This trend indicates that market-making firms are evolving from trading desks into core infrastructure providers.
