SBI Launches Japan's First Security Token Bond with XRP Rewards
SBI Holdings has launched Japan's first security token bond, offering retail investors fixed-income returns paired with XRP token rewards. The ¥10 billion ($64.5 million) three-year instrument is fully managed on-chain using BOOSTRY's enterprise blockchain platform.
The SBI START Bonds reward mechanism distributes approximately ¥200 in XRP per ¥100,000 invested at issuance and semi-annually through maturity in March 2029. This structure ties investor engagement with SBI VC Trade directly to the product's lifecycle.
SBI has a history of partnering with Ripple, co-founding SBI Ripple Asia, and previously distributing XRP directly to shareholders. The company aims to test whether conservative retail investors will accept tokenized fixed-income instruments that bundle crypto incentives alongside traditional yield.
