Scaramucci Sees Signs of Resilience in Bitcoin's Bear Market
Bitcoin has dropped by around 55% in value, but Anthony Scaramucci remains optimistic about its long-term prospects. Speaking at the SALT Wyoming Blockchain Symposium, he noted that this decline is relatively modest compared to previous bear markets, which often saw losses of 75-80%. This comparison suggests that demand for Bitcoin may be stronger than initially thought.
Scaramucci pointed to several factors contributing to the subdued prices, including capital shifting from crypto towards artificial intelligence investments and Bitcoin miners exploring AI-related opportunities. He also highlighted the upcoming 2028 halving, which will reduce the mining reward by half, further tightening supply and potentially driving up demand.
Institutional participation has given the current market a different structure than earlier cycles, with regulated access for traditional investors through spot Bitcoin ETFs and financial firms developing products around digital assets. Scaramucci remains bullish on Bitcoin's long-term prospects, expecting reduced issuance combined with sustained demand to push its price back above $100,000.
