Schiff Sees BTC Rally as 'Fake Move' Due to Easing Monetary Conditions
Renowned gold advocate and Bitcoin critic Peter Schiff is not convinced by the recent rally in BTC, which has pushed above $72,000.
In a post on his X account, Schiff stated that this rise was 'not a breakout, but a fake move.' He attributed the sudden surge to the US Treasury Department's surprise bond buyback announcement, which reinforced expectations of easing financial conditions and created short-term optimism in the cryptocurrency market.
Schiff believes that investors have been mistaken in thinking that looser monetary policies would boost both gold and Bitcoin. Instead, he argues that while easier money may support gold prices, it would not be a permanent catalyst for Bitcoin's rise.
