Schiff's Yield Warning Sparks Debate Over MSTR vs. BTC
Peter Schiff, an economist and critic of Bitcoin, recently claimed that the cryptocurrency's yield metrics are deteriorating. He pointed out that the year-to-date Bitcoin yield for Strategy shares had fallen to 4.5%, down from 13.3% on May 25, a decline of roughly 66% in two months.
Schiff questioned why the company's stock price was up around 7% despite these poor yield metrics. He stated that 'at this rate, you're better off owning Bitcoin' if one is bullish on the cryptocurrency. However, Schiff remains bearish on Bitcoin and would not invest in either the cryptocurrency or Strategy shares.
BTC researcher Adam Livingston responded to Schiff's claims by arguing that Strategy has historically rewarded patient investors despite its greater volatility. He presented data showing that MSTR beat BTC in 68.75% of possible holding periods since August 10, 2020.
