The SEC and CFTC have been at the center of partisan disagreements in recent months. A recently released amendment to the CLARITY Act includes a provision requiring that at least two commissioners across both agencies be nominated in consultation with the minority party. Schumer proposed two candidates for each agency, but their identities remain undisclosed.
