Schumer Unveils Anti-Corruption Bureau Targeting Trump's Crypto Profits
US Senator Chuck Schumer has introduced a bill to create an anti-corruption bureau aimed at investigating presidential profiteering, including President Trump's cryptocurrency ventures. The Anti-Corruption Bureau Creation Act would establish a federal corruption-investigation agency with sweeping investigative and subpoena powers.
The proposed legislation targets Trump's reported $2 billion in 2025 income, including $1.4 billion from cryptocurrency-related activities. This includes his involvement with World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency company co-founded by Trump and his sons Eric and Donald Jr.
Schumer emphasized the need for an independent agency to address corruption, stating that 'if Donald Trump or one of his lackeys uses government influence to steal from you, you deserve your day in court.'
