Schwab Adds SOL, AVAX, and LINK to Crypto Platform
Charles Schwab is expanding its crypto offerings beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum, adding Solana (SOL), Avalanche (AVAX), and Chainlink (LINK) to its platform. This move comes just months after the company launched direct crypto trading in May with Bitcoin and Ethereum.
The three new altcoins will be available for trading at 75 basis points per trade, which Schwab claims is among the lowest industry-wide. The addition of these assets brings more options for clients looking to build a digital asset allocation alongside their existing investments.
Schwarz did not provide a detailed explanation for why SOL, AVAX, and LINK were selected specifically, but noted that the expansion will give clients more choices when building a digital asset portfolio. The company also stated that it plans to add additional cryptocurrencies and digital assets over time, although no specific details have been announced.
The news has had little impact on the prices of the three altcoins, with SOL up 1.4% in the past 24 hours, while AVAX and LINK slipped by about 1.3% and 1.2%, respectively.
