Schwab Expands Crypto Lineup with Solana, Avalanche, Chainlink Additions
Charles Schwab is expanding its crypto offerings beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum, adding Solana (SOL), Avalanche (AVAX), and Chainlink (LINK) to its platform in the coming months.
The brokerage confirmed the additions on Thursday, five months after launching direct BTC and ETH trading. Solana, Avalanche, and Chainlink were selected due to their established status and client demand.
Schwab's expansion puts three major altcoins within reach of its 39.9 million active accounts and $13.04 trillion in client assets as of July 31. The platform charges 75 basis points on each trade, or 0.75%.
The addition of Solana is particularly significant, as it recently broke above $100 for the first time since February and was trading near $107 on Friday, up about 6% over 24 hours. Morgan Stanley has also added Solana to its E*Trade crypto rollout, giving SOL another route into traditional brokerage accounts.
