Schwab Expands Crypto Offering to Include Solana, Chainlink, and Avalanche
Charles Schwab, a Wall Street giant, has expanded its cryptocurrency offering beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum. The company's Schwab Crypto trading service will add Solana (SOL), Chainlink (LINK), and Avalanche (AVAX) in the coming months.
The move follows the launch of the platform just three months ago, which initially only supported trading in BTC and ETH. Since then, the market has seen a significant shift, with SOL up over 40% in the past month, LINK gaining 38%, and AVAX adding 15% to its value.
According to Charles Schwab's Head of Digital Assets, Joe Vietri, 'With this expansion, clients will have more choices to build a digital asset allocation alongside the investing and banking experience they know and trust at Schwab.'
The company has clarified that crypto trades carry a fee of 75 basis points on the dollar value of each transaction. However, it's worth noting that certain geographical limitations are still in place, with Schwab Crypto unavailable to residents of New York and Louisiana, as well as customers in US territories and international jurisdictions.
