Schwab Expands Crypto Offerings with Solana, Avalanche, and Chainlink Listings
Charles Schwab has announced it will allow clients to trade three new cryptocurrencies on its platform: Solana (SOL), Avalanche (AVAX), and Chainlink (LINK). This move comes after the firm initially only offered Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) for trading. The addition of these assets brings the total number of cryptocurrencies available on Schwab Crypto, the spot-trading product launched in May 2026, to four.
The decision to add Solana, Avalanche, and Chainlink was based on client demand, according to a statement from Charles Schwab. Joe Vietri, Head of Digital Assets, said that this expansion will give clients more choices to build a digital asset allocation alongside the investing and banking experience they know and trust at Schwab.
The pricing for these trades remains at 75 basis points, or 0.75% of each trade's dollar value, which is among the lowest in the industry. Charles Schwab Premier Bank custodies the assets, while Paxos handles execution.
Notably, all three tokens have seen their prices increase following the announcement, with SOL up by over 11.6%, LINK up by over 6.3%, and AVAX up by over 4%. However, it's worth noting that Schwab Crypto is not available in New York or Louisiana, and also does not operate outside of the US.
