Schwab Expands Crypto Platform with Solana, Avalanche, and Chainlink Additions
Charles Schwab, one of the largest brokerages in the United States, is expanding its cryptocurrency offerings. The company plans to add Solana (SOL), Avalanche (AVAX) and Chainlink (LINK) to its Schwab Crypto platform over the coming months.
The three assets will be available for direct spot trading, marking the first time the brokerage has expanded its list beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum since its May launch. Solana in particular is undergoing network-level changes with proposals SIMD-550 and SIMD-553 aimed at trimming SOL issuance.
The move extends a broader pattern of traditional financial firms deepening their crypto offerings. Institutions such as JPMorgan have been broadening exposure beyond the two largest cryptocurrencies, and a brokerage of Schwab's size adding altcoins is another sign that mainstream venues see durable demand.
