Schwab Expands Crypto Trading to Solana, Avalanche, and Chainlink
Financial services giant Charles Schwab is expanding its cryptocurrency trading platform to include Solana (Sol), Avalanche (AVAX), and Chainlink (LINK). This move comes just three months after Schwab started offering direct Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) trading to select retail clients.
The additions will allow customers to buy and sell these new cryptocurrencies on the Schwab website, mobile app, and thinkorswim trading platform. Each trade will carry a fee of 75 basis points, or $7.50 on a $1,000 transaction, which is among the industry's lowest.
Solana is designed for fast, inexpensive transactions and hosts apps for trading, payments, and gaming. Avalanche allows businesses and developers to create blockchains tailored to specific apps. Chainlink connects blockchains to outside information, supplying smart contracts with data such as asset prices.
