Schwab Expands Cryptocurrency Offerings with Solana, Avalanche, and Chainlink
Charles Schwab is expanding its cryptocurrency offerings to include Solana (SOL), Avalanche (AVAX), and Chainlink (LINK) in the coming months. The brokerage firm, which has over $12 trillion in assets under management and 39 million users, is adding these digital assets to its direct spot crypto offering through Schwab Crypto.
The move comes as traditional financial firms deepen their exposure to digital assets. SOL climbed above $109 on August 27, extending its 30-day gain to roughly 45%. The other tokens that Schwab plans to add to its offering rose by 5% and 3.35%, respectively.
Schwarz Says Expansion Will Give Users More Choices
According to the announcement, this is part of its plan to expand its digital asset offering in response to client demand. It noted that it will give clients more choices to build their digital asset portfolio within Schwab. Speaking about the expansion, Joe Vietri, Head of Digital Assets at Schwab, noted that it is consistent with the firm’s approach of giving clients access to familiar crypto assets alongside the tools and resources to make informed decisions.
